cotswolds cuteness.

I finally got my act together and edited my photos from the beautiful manor houses we stayed at in the Cotswolds! ๐Ÿ™‚

The most time consuming part of putting together my blog posts is editing my photos. I’ve had a few people ask how I edit the pictures for my blog: I use Snapseed which is a free app and I typically use that to brighten photos and sometimes edit the coloring or shadows. Then I use either Afterlight or VSCO. Both are free but you can buy more filters which I’ve done once or twice. Lately I’ve been using VSCO after Snapseed.

Alright, on to the pics…

The first manor house we stayed at after Soho Farmhouse was Buckland Manor. This was the most old school of the manor houses that we stayed at. The service was incredible but it was also the most “stuffy.” We had just come from the most hip place {Soho Farmhouse} so it was a hilarious transition.

We laughed our way through our first afternoon tea because it was so drastically different. Extremely formal and proper ๐Ÿ™‚ We also learned the difference between a cream tea and a full afternoon tea.

I’m all about the cream tea {aka just tea and scones} My mom was so cute and worried we didn’t like this place but we ABSOLUTELY did! The hotel and grounds were absolutely gorgeous and it was so fun to stay in a very traditional manor house. We also had our best meal of the trip at Buckland. Every manor house had a bathtub which was perfect for us – we are all the biggest bath lovers.

We met a variety of characters at Buckland – I will never forget it. Mrs. Potts is definitely reincarnated at Buckland Manor.

From Buckland Manor we stayed 1 night at The Slaughters Manor House. It was so beautiful and in an adorable town.

This manor house was much more contemporary and had the cutest pink barstools that I obviously loved ๐Ÿ™‚ We took a walk the afternoon we arrived and passed the spot where Prince Charles proposed to Princess Diana – you will see a picture of the spot below.

From The Slaughters we went to Barnsley House which was our last manor house before heading back to London. This was our favorite spot. It had the most incredible gardens, we loved the decor and the spa was amaaaazing. It was small and private and we could have moved right in.

The spa ๐Ÿ™‚

Barnsley House has a tavern just down the road, a short cute walk from the main house. I loved that it had a beer window – if only I could have indulged, soon enough!

We also visited a bunch of cute towns in the Cotswolds along the way and did some antique shopping. The photos below are a mix of exploring the various Cotswolds towns.

Overall our time in the Cotswolds was just perfect. The manor houses and towns were so cute & quaint – it really made for the most fun and relaxing girls trip!

Cheers! xx
