friday five.

Cheers to the {long} weekend! So excited to spend time with my mother in law this weekend AND also pretty happy I get Monday off for MLK day.

Here’s a Friday Five round up of things I’ve found helpful, fun or insightful this week!

We started cooking at home consistently during the week at the end of last year and it’s taken so much stress out of the “what’s for dinner?” conversation. Anyone else have that constant battle!? Going to the grocery every Sunday with at least an idea of 4 meals for the week has made life so much easier.

Turkey meatballs in the crockpot and sautéing chicken in lemon pepper seasoning & Jane’s Krazy mixed up salt {obsessed with this stuff!} with rice + a veggie are on heavy rotation. I also like to make crockpot salsa chicken for tacos or taco salads {easiest thing ever here — I use jarred hot salsa and cut down on the cook time from what that recipe says — about 4 hours on low — so the chicken doesn’t get dry/chewy}

I loved Liz’s post {from the blog Sequins and Stripes} on 10 Healthy Recipes to Try in the New Year. We made the lemon pepper salmon Wednesday night {and added a little Jane’s Krazy mixed up salt – SO easy & good!} I want to try her chicken pudding {healthy chicken pot pie} recipe soon as well!

I also saved this to make soon: 5 ingredient banana bread muffins.

Bailey McCarthy {of Biscuit Home – I got these monogrammed shams for Christmas!} has a February feature in House Beautiful that’s absolutely stunning. A few of my favorites are below. View the entire Home Makeover here!

I walked by Anthro yesterday and saw this top in the window. I am obsessed with the stripes + light blue ruffle combo!

I linked a few other adorable ruffled tops from Anthro below.

My favorite podcast as of late is from NPR. It’s called How I Built This. It’s such an interesting series — Guy Raz {the same guy from TED Radio Hour} interviews innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists, and the stories behind the movements they built.

Each episode is a narrative journey marked by triumphs, failures, serendipity and insight — told by the founders of some of the world’s best known companies and brands.

My favorite episodes include Instagram, Airbnb and Warby Parker. I’ve almost listened to them all. Makes the commute so much more bearable.

Really inspiring 🙂

5. SALE!

The gorgeous brand D. Porthault Paris has a big sale starting on Monday you should consider checking out! I adore all of their linens, towels and robes. I ordered custom handkerchiefs {info on their site here!} from them for my mom and mother in law for our wedding – they make the most beautiful products!

Their sale starts Monday and will be 20-80% off select products. A few of my favorite images from their Instagram feed are below.

Have a fabulous weekend! xx
