fashion for the new year.

Happy Monday!

Today I’m sharing a few of my latest fashion favorites for the new year.

Karen Walker sunglasses. I got these for Christmas & am obsessed — I love the tortoise color and shape — she tons of shapes to accommodate any face here πŸ™‚

Velvet. Velvet was perfect for Christmastime and is still great through these next cold winter months. I wore this velvet cold shoulder dress from Asos at our family Christmas dinner at Sotto in Cincy.

Sotto is my absolute favorite spot in Cincinnati — it’s SO incredibly cozy and the food is insanely delicious.

Here are a few photos of our happy hour at the new Richter & Phillips downtown before dinner. The new R&P store is stunning! If you live in Cincy you MUST check it out πŸ™‚ It’s across the street from the old location on 6th and Main.

The vault downstairs…

Now back to velvet… another cute velvet option I love is from Urban Outfitters for $69 here in silver blue or black. It would be adorable with a white long sleeved t-shirt under it to make it more casual.

This brings me to the next fashion trend for the year that I’m into… chokers and scarf neckties.

I think the choker look has to be done tastefully {aka keep it simple} – for example, the below velvet chokers really work.

A few others I like…

I have a simple black bow one that my mom found {she is truly the best shopper around!}

An example of the scarf necktie look is below at dinner with my mom in December πŸ™‚

Get the look…

Moving onto cozy cashmere. A must for the frigid temps.

I’ve talked about White & Warren travel wraps a thousand times on this blog but you NEED one if you don’t have one. A serious staple in my winter wardrobe. A friend of mine was wearing the icicle heather {can be found via Saks} the other day {a very pale blue} that is next on my wish list.

As seen below in grey with my new girl ChloΓ© πŸ™‚ {find her here!}

& finally a couple random beauty finds that I’m loving lately: this Bed Head curling wand – my sister taught me how to curl my hair with this wand over the holidays and I will be forever grateful. It’s under $20 and if I can do it — anyone can. I am typically very challenged in the doing my own hair department.

AND this foundation called Young Blood Liquid Mineral Foundation {read more about it in this Into The Gloss article!} goes on so smoothly – I’m a big fan. I like to use it under Bare Minerals foundation.

Signing off for today. Cheers! xx
