charleston recap.

Charleston was the most charming city! We stayed downtown at The Planter’s Inn. It was such a quaint, adorable & traditionally designed hotel. An amazing oasis for our time down South.

I loved the cute teddy bears on the beds, the breakfast in the courtyard + coconut cake from their Peninsula Grill {they’re famous for this cake – it did NOT disappoint!}

*warning* this post is very long and photo heavy πŸ™‚

They used Le Creuset at many of the restaurants and had a Le Creuset shop attached to the Planter’s Inn. I obviously loved all the pink.

It was a perfect location in the heart of downtown, easily walkable to King Street {lots of shopping} and tons of local restaurants.

My favorite shop was definitely Candlefish – it was filled with candles and gifts. The fragrance library was so beautiful and unique. I could have stayed in there for hours!

A close second was a French store called Lily. They had the most beautiful packaging & chic displays.

The food we had in Charleston was incredible – we did not have a bad meal. Some favorites are below…

Slightly North of Broad aka S.N.O.B. // we went here once for dinner & once for lunch right before we left for the airport. It was so fun to see it during the day & night. Amazing food, service & ambiance.

Carmella’s Dessert Bar // Right up my alley! Mini cakes + wine at the dessert bar our first night in was a perfect welcome to South Carolina.

167 Raw // we were told by a few people that we needed to go to 167 Raw and I’m so glad we did! There was about a 30 minute wait but it was raining so we didn’t mind drinking some rosΓ© while we waited.

I didn’t take any pics of the food but we were starving by the time it came and it was not a priority πŸ™‚ Easily the best lobster roll I’ve ever had. EVER.

We had the most gorgeous happy hour Saturday night at Zero George. It was the epitome of Southern chic & will be a bucket list hotel to stay in the future that’s for sure!

My purple dress is by Christy Dawn. I came across this line by reading Gal Meets Glam & love SO many of the dresses.

FIG // this was my absolute favorite meal of the trip! We went here after Zero George. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures but that speaks to how engrossed we were with our meal & evening at FIG. The tomato tarte was pretty much life changing. I will dream of it.

Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit // we went here Sunday morning – it’s a MUST in Charleston.

We ordered way too many biscuits because we wanted to try a few {this photo is just one of our containers, ha!}

My favorite was the black pepper bacon filled biscuit + cheese. My sister said the egg + sausage was unreal. Pretty positive you can’t order wrong.

Cannon Green // this is a gorgeous event space that also offers brunch. The avocado toast was a highlight {as were the mimosas!}

Husk // The bar at Husk is in it’s own building right next door and was so cool with exposed brick and fun cocktails! It felt like your own little private clubhouse.

On our last day we checked out Mount Pleasant & Sullivan’s Island as well as Boone Hall Plantation.

Part of the Notebook was filmed at Boone Hall {I’m watching The Notebook as I write this blog post πŸ™‚ } — the main house at Boone Hall was Allie’s parents house.

A great highlight of Sullivan’s Island was our late lunch at The Obstinate Daughter – this place had the most inspiring nautical interiors and delicious food {the pizza was AMAZZZING}

There is just SO much to see and do in Charleston that I feel like we did not even scratch the surface.

With Kiawah Island & Sea Island nearby the options seem endless! I absolutely NEED to go back to see more {and eat more!!!}

And finally a little casual airport style on the way home after an amazing girls trip!
