Wedding Wednesday

My parents’ dinner club had a shower for us Saturday night & we had the best time! The theme was a “Wintry Feast” & cable-knits were “encouraged.” The boys had to Google what a cable-knit was.

How their dinner club (they actually call it their ‘gourmet group’) works is whoever is in charge of the party chooses the menu to match the theme. Each couple then brings the dish they were assigned.

It’s such a wonderful way to try new recipes as well as get together with friends. They have been doing this for 30 years – pretty unbelievable.

Everything was delicious but my favorite had to be the cake. Not only did it look beautiful it also tasted amazing.

The recipe for the cake is from Southern Living’s December issue. Click here & here for recipe details.

The other thing I was dying over was the fact that on each person’s place setting was a monogrammed napkin with our new monogram – SO excited to have 14 of them! Such a thoughtful gift.

The loser of couples trivia had to wear the Chef Hajjar apron & Love Chef hat to make breakfast the next morning. I lost.

Love all the details of the evening.
